VOLUNTEER WITH COCA

Volunteer as a Grant Panelist

COCA seeks nominations from the public to fill volunteer grant panelist positions in its cultural grant program administered on behalf of the City of Tallahassee and Leon County. We are looking for a diverse group of community members with experience in one or more of the following areas: visual art, performing art, literary art, media art, museums, history and heritage, tourism, arts administration, arts education, or general knowledge of the Tallahassee community. Panelists attend a short orientation, review grant applications based upon specific guidelines, attend a half-day panel meeting with the applicants, and make funding recommendations. If you or someone you know would like to participate in this important (and informative!) process, please contact Holly Thompson at 850-224-2500 or download a nomination form.

Volunteer as an Art Juror

COCA is always looking for volunteer committee members to select public art for exhibition. We are seeking a diverse group of community members with experience in painting, photography, sculpture, and/or other visual arts. Committee members will view and select artists and/or artwork for exhibitions or juried shows at City Hall and the Tallahassee Regional Airport art galleries, or for other special projects. Please contact Amanda Thompson at amanda@cocanet.org or 850-224-2500 to volunteer.

Access Advisory Committee

COCA's Access Committee is committed to improving access to all aspects of arts and cultural events for all people, with a focus on people with disabilities. Volunteer committee members represent people with and without a wide range of disabilities and arts interests. For further information please contact Randi Atwood at randi@cocanet.org or 850-224-2500.

Board of Directors

Board members are dynamic community leaders appointed by the City and the County to serve a four-year term. Each board member who desires is eligible for one re-appointment. The board meets bi-monthly, and all board members must reside within Leon County limits. For further information, or to make a recommendation for future vacancies, contact Holly Thompson at holly@cocanet.org or 850-224-2500.
