LISTING POLICIES FOR CAPITAL CULTURE MAGAZINE

Capital Culture Magazine has eight sections of arts-related listings. All listings are included in each issue, with each section having expanded listings in one issue per year. Organizations may be listed in multiple categories, at COCA's discretion.

Criteria for all categories:

  • Walk-in sites, stores, and studios must have regular, posted hours every week. There is no minimum number of weekly open hours required, but we do not list locations with "by appointment only" hours or "First Fridays only" hours.

  • Listed establishments must have the art or performance as the primary focus. (In other words, a live music venue that also serves food or alcohol is likely to be listed, whereas a restaurant or bar that has incidental art on the walls or live music in the background is not likely to be listed.)

  • For-profit organizations must be either locally owned AND/OR feature products by local artists or local manufacturers. This includes CDs by local musicians, books by local authors, books and magazines published locally, films and videos by local filmmakers, etc.

  • COCA reserves the right to include or exclude any listing at its discretion, and to determine the content and placement of all listings.
